When I first saw the Landover Baptist Church website, I was fooled for a few minutes before clueing into the satire. Then, when I was later introduced to the Westboro Baptist Church, I thought for sure it was a similar satire. My heart cried for our species when I found out it wasn't.

Anyone else mistake serious websites for satirical ones?

Landover used to be much much subtler than it is now. I liked it better back then, when some fundamentalists went to the site, said "Amen!" not even knowing it was a joke.

Sites like those are all full of BS. Designed to instill anger and get blood boiling. Whether people believe this stuff or not, is none of my business, but if they do, I feel sorry for them. If their lives are so boring they have to resort to the behavior listed on those sites, then I weep for their children. That's abuse, and I'm sorry, no god should ever ask it's worshippers to abuse anyone.

I used to think that http://www.vatican.va/ was real.

I have to agree with Jon M. The old Landover used to get great mail from fundies supporting their work.
