If you have rear calipers, then that means you have disk brakes on the rear. The caliper is what pushes the brakes into or up against the rotor. I don't have any idea of cost for the calipers as price would differ for one car to another, but would guess around $30.00 each (or more) and that does not include labor.
A brake job could last for a short time or a long time. That would depend on how you drive or maybe I should say how much you ride your brakes (you must not ride your brakes if you got 95k on them). They can last from around 40,000 to over 100,000 miles
Your tune up should be at 100,000 miles (you didn't state year of jeep, but with 95,000 miles on the plugs means it not called for until 100,000 miles)so now is a good time to go ahead and put new plugs in.

RE:
What is a caliper and how much does it cost?
I took my jeep in because the brakes were rubbing and they told me they had to replace a rear caliper and brakes. They also are changing the spark plugs because my Jeep has 95K miles on it and they said they were all carbed up.
I trust the mechanic there because they have worked on my jeep...

It`s a simple little job,two bolts and bleed the one caliper. You can get a second hand caliper for around £35,(here anyway). They`ll probably charge you one hour labour,if their honest.

Good explanations here but look for that caliper to be more like $160 on the vehicle.

Ok brake caliper are this, take your right hand and make a "c" shape with it and hold it. Now take your other hand and make it flat. Insert the flat hand into the "c" shape hand and open and close the "c" shape hand. The "c" shape hand represents the caliper as it opens and closes on your disc brakes to stop your veihicle. The caliper itself is not that expensive, but it is labor intensive as the mechanic will have to purge any air that comes into your brake system because you had to disconect the old caliper for the new one.

Your looking at ballpark of $120+. It makes sense that they said that you need new spark plugs. You're supposed to have a tune-up every 30k miles. As far as how long your breaks should last depends on how you drive and what kind of car you have. Automatic transmissions usually need to have the breaks replaced a little more often because you can't down shift. On average a person probably gets their breaks changed up about every 12-18 months. You have to be careful with breaks. If your breaks wear down to nothing then you risk permanently damaging your calipers or rotors (about $120+/each).

Most plugs last to 100k miles these days, so don't feel like an idiot for not doing it yet.
