Can you do some research about Evolution bf posting these questions???
1st.) Evolution does not say we came from monkeys.
2nd) Its a theory, which means its the best scientific explanation available at the moment. Can you prove gravity exists? Because the concept of gravity is still a theory as well.

Also, who says things aren't evolving today. Evolution takes millions of years, and modern humans have only been here for 10,000. Of course we wouldnt see Evolution occuring.
However, micro-evolution has been documented. Know why flu vaccines are such a pain? because every year the virus evolves, becomes resistant to the vaccine, and we must come up with a vaccine for the new flu virus.

From your question I can tell you need to do some research. Evolution has never claimed that human evolved from monkeys. The great apes and humans share a common ancestor, a huge difference. The evolutionary process for higher animals is a slow process but evolution is evident to us now on smaller scales with bacteria and virus, and even with insects.

Can you prove that every single human on Earth is made of entirely dirt and bone, which happened to just "poof" into existence by some magical creator?

Look, if you knew a lick of anything about evolution, you wouldn't be asking this question. Humans are primates, similar to chimpanzees and apes. That's not even debatable at this point. The genome of homo-sapiens has been found to share over 98% of our DNA with other primates.

There is a mountain of evidence to support the theory of evolution. In fact, evolution itself can be considered a fact, but the exact processes that are involved in causing it are still in theory. If you're not willing to learn about it before you criticize it, then don't bother asking questions like this.

Outside of bible (aka Goat Herders' Guide to the Galaxy) there is NO ‘proof’ of Creationism.

BUT, there is a stack of knowledge supporting Evolution.

The Creation Hypothesis has but ONE text supporting it - a dusty book based on old Bronze Age myths and superstitions.
How many lines in Genesis does it have supporting it?
AND, it doesn't offer HOW or WHY creation happened ... just that a magical being in the sky did so … on a whim perhaps or a bet?

WHY would an already perfect being need to create anything?
An already perfect being NEEDS nothing.

The only reason Creationism is 'believed in', especially by USians, is cos a dumbed down population doesn't have the mental capacity to remember and 'understand' anymore than GODDIDIT.
It’s so simple even a child 'understands' it and can repeat it.

"Can you prove to me evolution is real"
I'll let thousands upon thousands of scientists do the talking for me. also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution

"and i am indeed a decendent of a monkey"
Ah, either a trick question or a fundamental misunderstanding of evolution. You are not descended from a monkey. You and monkeys share a common ancestor.

"can you tell me why things dont evolve still today?"
They do!

Fossil succession alone is more than enough to prove the big idea: http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/fossils/succession.html

There is way way way more. But that one is pretty easy to understand and it gives a relative order that life appeared independent of any dating method.

And just so you know, when you say that monkey thing, I know that you completely ignored every bit of science you had after like third grade. And finally things, including humans, are still evolving. The simplest thing to see is that we are almost 30% taller in the last 600 years.

Evolution does not say that we evolved from monkeys
and another thing Yes, things are still evolving today! For example humans have gotten taller since the the time of Jesus.

More people believe in evolution than believe in God. When a survey was done, the United States scored better than only Turkey when citizens were asked if they believed in evolution. Every other developed country believes in the evolution moreso than the United States.

"Well the rest of the developed world is wrong." Open your eyes, and you will see this is not the case.

There is a lot of scientific information available on the internet to help you find the answer to this. Don't try to take the easy way out, and find a three sentence answer on Yahoo. Research and decide for yourself.

Oops. I almost forgot to pose the standard rebuttle question. Can you prove to me that a magic man who lives in the clouds snapped his fingers and everything poofed into existance, exactly the way it is today, only 6,000 years ago?

2007-10-31 11:44:03 · answer #10 · answered by Anonymous · 2 0

You are not. Monkeys and humans both came from an earlier primate.

Sorry, but you probably don't know enough about science to understand all of the evidence for evolution, and you apparently have a severe bias against it. It would take too long to explain all of it to you.

All I can do is suggest several works by Dawkins, who does a good job of explaining evolution in terms that most people can understand.

Try these books by Richard Dawkins:

The Blind Watchmaker: Why the Evidence of Evolution Reveals a Universe Without Design

The Ancestor's Tale: A Pilgrimage to the Dawn of Evolution

The Selfish Gene

Climbing Mount Improbable
