yes, I wear aborted fetuses.... whats wrong with you people. We have higher education rates, lower crime rates, we have the lowest divorce rates. Just accept the truth- that atheists are normal people with ethics and values, without a god.

lol the responses are hilarious. Why wouldn't atheists enjoy the holiday and dress up? I've never really thought of Halloween as being a religious day, I mean what's it supposed to represent to Christianity?
I thought it was just an adoption of pagan beliefs that the Church couldn't suppress. But it holds very little religious meaning in todays world, at least in America.
Oh and to answer your question I'd say some would wear costumes and some wouldn't depending on personal choice, just like everyone else.

The typical Atheist is a pragmatic realist. It's a waste of energy to go out tonight. I'm going to the save my energy so I can get to the store first thing tomorrow for the half off sales on Halloween candy.

I can only attempt to speak for the girls: I'm wearing a deep cherry red sweater with my "crone" pin that I only pull out for Halloween. This is paired with a pair of tan pants (wide-legged of course) and bottomed off so to speak with my booties from Payless - the ones that I get so many compliments on - they're a sort of tweedy looking material. And my wooden leaf earrings to tie in with the pants.
I think I look quite spiffy, and I hope I'm representin' quite well!

I bought a new pick-axe, which should serve me for Halloween and Christmas.
If I've got that on one shoulder, most people aren't worrying about other details of what I'm wearing.
Seriously. It's got a good heft. And I've got a whole new garden to rearrange/fill.

For my Halloween party at work, I went as Peter Griffin from Family Guy. I had a fat suit and a face mask - the whole shabam! It was hilarious.

First you must find a "typical atheist". If you find one then you should ask them.
