You dr. didn't test for strep???? That's what it sounds like. Sometimes though, they'll put you on meds that will fight it regardless of a test if they think you might have it.

Had same symptoms when I was 9 yrs old. Dr.diagnosed as
"Trench Mouth". No joke. Contracted by drinking from dirty public water fountain or by contact with some other infested
source. Ate cold soup and popsicles for two weeks and kept out of school. Is contagious. Could be it. Ask another doctor.

I've had that all week. It started with the throat & then traveled to my chest, now I'm coughing my head off. I figure it's the flu. I'm taking aleve & mucinex for it. If it doesn't get better in a few days, I guess I'll have to see my doc (who is another idiot...you think we may have the same one?)

Get yourself to a new doctor. I have no idea what your problem if it was me a new doctor would be my next phone call. Be sure and describe the problem and don't let them put you off for two weeks. Tell them you MUST see the doctor as it's to painful to eat.

At a guess I'd say throat infection. If you are in UK, give NHS Direct a ring, one of the nurses might be able to help you out.

OK, well it could be what i got. If you look down your throat if you see little white spots or sores it could be this thing called hand foot and mouth virus which should pass. Also if you've had any fever id get checked for strep.

you could try the health food store, did the dr not swab your throat, for strep throat, if its a virus, sometimes you just have to let it work its way out. gargling warm salt water, can sometimes help!!! or go to a different dr.!! swallow a big spoon ful of honey, its very healing

No one can safely diagnose you over the Internet. See a different doctor.
