i know everyone has thier moments in life, when things go wrong, and bad news, how do you cope?

ive always got outside and went site-seeing, riding around, or fishing to clear my mind of the stresses, and when im anxious, i tend to grab a paper clip and twist it into a clunk of maulled metal. maybe not the best, but they've always helped me.

about 5 years ago, I started to fall into a really depressive episode. At first I thought it was only because I had a bad break from a relationship but the feelings wouldn't go away even after I got a new girlfriend. It was wrecking my life until a point where it was seriously affecting my work and personal life.

She was very worried but at the same time couldn't understand why I was still sad and thought that I still couldn't let go of my previous relationship. Being the wonderful person that she is, she put aside her feelings and suggested I go for psychiatric evaluation. Many months later and even more anti-depressants, I was not coming close to being better at all.

After doing some research online, I found out the real cause as you described it really makes a lot of sense and purchased this program. The results were simply astonishing. I read this book over three times and put all words in action. Using this method, I've kept my depression at bay ever since. Up to date I'm still living happily with my girlfriend.

Depression Free Method?

What you are talking about are the little 'down times' and the times when you are 'nervous' about something that you can't deal with unless you do something to 'burn it off.' BOTH of your 'fixes' are actually very good ones for those ... especially your 'getting outside' to do things that can raise your spirits. Other people have 'clinical depression' and 'clinical anxiety' and they NEED help from a doctor or mental health professional to get through these times. NEITHER clinical depression nor clinical anxiety is 'for life' but if you CAN NOT lift your spirits by going outside, or help the anxiety by mangling a paper clip into 'mauled metal' the you should go to a mental health provider or your doctor and ASK FOR HELP.
Thank you for your 'good advice' and giving me the chance to 'get the word out' to others who may not 'know' whether they are 'just down' or 'just nervous' or have the clinical varieties of these syndromes ... and GOOD WORK for your ways to deal with both of these problems without help or without making others miserable or pay attention to you ...

Try to turn around the way you face life. See the world as something extremely negative. Be careful! There's a catch to it. If you do this you must promise to REALLY open your eyes and all your senses to everything around you. I promise you that everything that you see, that you taste, that you live, will be a lot better than you had in mind. Embrace that reality, the reality that everything is better than you had imagined at the beginning of the day and you'll become a happy person!

I wish you all the best!

I am single mum. I have been suffering for panic attacks for some 15 years now, though it was not until recently I understood what they were. They were progressively getting stronger and more frequent, stopping me from some days even leaving my house. I read this book and it all made perfect sense.

I am not saying I was not terrified of putting theory to action, I was more scared of that than the next attack! But I decided to view it as a game, one I had control of and could therefore not lose!

Meditation , thinking back to old memories. Going for a walk in the park and enjoy the way the wind feels across my skin, the smell of the air.Going for walks at night. Reading different book or trying to express the feeling in writing , songs, poems, books etc. Stay away from meds very very dangerous stuff.

For me I think it depends on what is causing me those symptoms. Many times I will just talk to a good friend or get myself involved into something like positive movie or book and sometimes i go onto the Internet here into Y!A.

We all handle our stresses differently what is important is knowing you have them and dealing with them!

I quit using alcohol, nicotine, and cut way down on caffeine. I make a point of taking care of situations I would prefer avoiding or postponing, and I try to respond to life's situations appropriately. Good luck.

Well it sound like you are employing some coping techniques. I go to a support group twice a week and that really helps.
