i was at the mall yesterday at the electronics section and all of the sudden out of nowhere this black chubby guy coems and asks my name in a low voice as if he was nervous. i told him my "fake" name and he repeated my name twice as if he was shocked or something. so anyway he was askig if i was shopping for kids and i was like "no" and soemthing told me he was just trying to get my number so as he was asking me another question which i didnt really hear, i cut him off and went to the counter to pay for the video game. and its like he just totally vanished!! it was as if he was never there.

i do believe God does test us and that Angels are everywhere but, an angel wouldnt just come up to you and start asking for your name would he?

I believe angels probaly already know our names. If an angel was assigned to be our guardian, then they surely would.

I do believe sometimes angels are send to intervene in our lives to protect us from harm, Who knows... if it was an angel, maybe he was sent there to distract you a few moments that may have kept you away from danger.

However, you can't be too cautious with all the wierdos in the world. It's a good thing that you noticed something strange about the guy.

doubt it. Angels are sent by God and have a prime directive. The have the info they need from the beginning, so there would be no need for them to ask your name, which ever one you use. The fact that he left when you turned around isn't hard to do. I used to work as an undercover loss prevention officer for department stores and was taught how to move without notice.
besides, God is very private when it comes between communicating with his people. So your public encounter seems nothing more than a failed attempt to court you.

If it was, you wouldn't have to ask.

In addition, I would like to add, I think you should check out your relationship to God the Father. How are you doing there?

Is your relationship based on what you have heard others tell you; like preachers or bible study leaders who have read the bible for you and told you which scriptures to read to understand a certain doctrine or christian idea?

I'm not saying it is but your question raises more questions.

It is common, especially for those who say, "I was raised a christian." to have all of their knowledge of God come from others. This is not healthy.

If this is your case, (I don't know if it is) you should get very serious about knowing God and Jesus on a deep personal level.
Read all the scriptures over and over and ask God to give light to them by the power of the Word of God (Jesus)

If this is not your case, the advice is good anyway. We should always be doing that.

Just a hunch

Sounds like you did the right thing. Just remember not all angels are good. The Fallen angels are very bad, come disguised as angels of light.

2Cr 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

transformed 3345 metaschmatizw metaschematizo met-askh-ay-mat-id'-zo from meta - meta 3326 and a derivative of schma - schema 4976; to transfigure or disguise; figuratively, to apply (by accommodation):--transfer, transform (self).

Some guy was stalking you in the mall and you want to know if it was an angel? That is funny.

No it was just a pervert. Seriously.

I think you need practice in drawing lines and setting limits.

You said about this incident, "I feel sick." Pay attention to your gut feelings. They are telling you something important -- that this guy was a creep.

You should have said, frostily, "That's none of your business," and walked away. You need to become more assertive. Consider studying martial arts.

You are reading way too much into this, he wanted in your pants, nothing more. He's asking you if you are shopping for kids, it's a plug to see 1) do you have kids 2) if yes they are more likely to be involved or married.

If it was a test, I think you passed it. You did the right thing to keep yourself safe. I don't think God would have put you in a situation where doing the unsafe thing would have been the right thing.
However, I believe the person was just a person and he left when quickly when you gave him the brushoff. Just as well.

I don't think an angel would ask your name. If he was from God, he would already know it. If someone gives you an eery, or an icky feeling, then I would say they are not from God. It's best to flee, like you did.

An Angel of God would have known your name and wouldn't approach you to scare you.
