Sounds like you'll be knocked out completely... and Oral Surgeons have full qualifications to do so, without the outside help of anesthesiologists.

The 'other' kind of sedation is called conscience sedation.. and it's usually in pill form.

You'll be just fine!

:)

You really should have asked your dentist or they should have told you before now. You should have been informed in the first place. If you are curious call their office and ask. They will answer you, and you can specify to be knocked out for surgery or other severe procedures.

I was knocked out to have my wisdom teeth cut out and they put an IV into the back of my hand. They ran a solution into it that completely knocked me out until my surgery was over.

P.S. I walked out after being knocked out for my surgery. If you don't remember anything you were knocked out all the way.

If you want to be knocked out, then you need to tell your dentist this. We have no idea what drugs your dentist is using or what his plan is. Call him right now to clarify.

Should you go fully under, make sure that an anesthesiologist or some sort is present.

Most likely sedated....That's what they did when I had my wisdom teeth out. I fell asleep I guess so I don't remember them pulling or cutting...whatever they do. But, I walked out right after it was over so I'm assuming I was only really sedated not put to sleep.
