What should I do since my mother doesn't let me go out anywhere with my friends and for god's sake I'm 17 years old!! She claims that she doesn't know them, I know she's trying to protect me because she cares about me, but it's really starting to get on my nerves!! HELP!

Ha! My mother was the same way. I wasn't able to date til I was 16 and by then I was already a senior in high school.

I started inviting my friends over so that she could meet the people I was spending my time with at school. After a while it helped ease her mind about letting me out. Plus I had a curfew and had to be home by midnight til I was like 21. My mom was the PITS!

But now that I'm 35, married with kids - I totally appreciate the tight hold that she had on me. Who knows where I would've ended up...trust that your mother knows what's best for you. You'll hate it now, but you'll appreciate it in the end!

Bring your friends home. Seriously. Not just to meet mom but every day. Either mom will step up to the plate and feed your friends, listen to your music or the endless chatter you and your friends create, or she will come to her senses, realize your friends aren't an evil group of beings devoted to taking you to the dark side....and she'll boot you and your friends out of the house with her blessing.

I give your mom about ten days before she pays you to go out and do something with your friends, outside of her house, and leave her the heck alone.

I agree with liligirl, it makes sense to let mom meet your friends.
