whats the best cable company to go with?

Avoid AT&T at all costs. They are an extremely fraudalant company. I know that no companie will be 100% honest with there customers but AT&T has to be the worst customer experience I have ever had. They will do anything for a proffit and to protect themselves. They are fundmentally scam artists so steer clear of them.

You usually only have 1 choice in CATV service. Whatever company owns the wires that run to your house is who you get, and the packages & services for the same company is different in different areas.
You should look at your CATV company, DishNetwork and DirectTV. All 3 usually have good packages for new subscribers.
I strongly urge you to get service that comes with a DVR. These recording devices will change the way you watch television.
Things to look for:
- Monthly fee for 'basic'
- Is a DVR included? Extra fees?
- Do you have to hook the box to a phone line
- Do you have to commit to a X year contract?
Remember: they will all try to get you to sign up for a $60-$90 package deal. They wont even mention the lower packages until you are about to hang up.
