I suggest somewhere like a gym or perhaps a church setting. Many churches have singles groups. I've also heard that the grocery store is a good place.
Then again, I heard that in order to find someone, you have to stop looking, then that special someone just somehow pops up... wierd...but I've seen this happen to a few friends.
