About 3-5 times more information with a HD feed than a DVD.

A DVD is sharp and clear. But true HD - well, on a close-up, you can see the reflection of the stage lights in an actors eyes.

DVD's are still based on the 1940's television standard designed for a 9-inch tube (in black and white). This is called 480i.

If you are watching on a TV that isn't HD you won't see a difference.
