who will always be his daughter but can not forgive him for so much? What steps should be taken to fix a broken daughter/father relationship?
She has lost respect and love for him, now.

This is about my daugher, not myself.
She is a generous loving respectful daugher to her father because of how she has been raised.

True my daughter must be set an example and I need to be there for her which I always am.

I must not be phrasing this question right at all.
Obviously counseling is necessary but what responsibility does a father have towards setting things right. It just shows to me he does not care

He said she was lying about something that he knew she was telling the truth about. It was a serious situation. He then used religion as a way to show he had changed. It is not about child abuse.

He mightn't care but you do. Start setting up a regular time e.g. Thursday night to all go out to dinner (even if you're seperated.)

I hated Dad when I was a teenager and hated spending forced time with him, in the end though, it did us all the world of good. Today, I love both of my parents to bits.

Two things: time and maturity.

She needs to rebuild her trust in you, but that will never happen unless you act worthy of trust. Grow up and start showing your daughter how dependable you are.

And - give her time. You screwed up and eventually she will realize that parents are people too. But - this won't happen overnight.

The key to all of this is communication. If they don't have any then it can not be fixed. If there is then they can talk about it and regain what was lost. Good luck.

if you knew she was telling the truth then you must admit you were wrong and talk openly about the situation and then let time heal your wounds after its settled. apologize

Take it easy by simply talking. I know its hard to discuss things but thats what we all have to do at some point.
