If you have a brand new core 2 duo computer with 2gb of RAM or more... then get Vista...
Vista is still bugged out though, and its not entirely fixed.
If you have a computer youve had for a year or more, and its a little old. Stick with Windows XP MCE (Media Center Edition).
It uses MUCH less memory, and will run much faster than vista will.
I would wait on vista untill january 2008 or beyond (service pack 1 comes out in supposedly january for vista, which will probably fix a lot of its issues).
XP is more stable, reliable, and it has 2 service packs of fixes behind it and many updates. It has had more time to adapt and perform well.

Hi, I would suggest that u get Windows Vista Home Premium. If ur system can support it then its the best option. Windows Vista has better security features than Windows Xp some of which resemble Unix like user account control. It has aero desktop effects and a better interface and also comes with DirectX 10 which is best for gaming. I hope I helped.
Good Luck!

It very much depends on what kind of system you have. If you are building a new gaming system with a dual or quad core processor and over 2GB of ram, I highly recommend 64 bit vista.
If you have a laptop of any sort, or an older system that isn't dual core or doesn't have 2GB of ram, then I would recommend XP.
Vista is meant for new hardware. People have problems with it because they try to run it on a laptop or old hardware and they find it's really slow. But if you have a powerful system it's rock stable and I personally have had no problems with it.
Good luck!

If you are particularly after Media Center then both are good, I would say go Vista Home Premium simply because it is the way forward.
