Rather than invest the money in a bed that may not fit the room why not make your own canopy. This can be attached to the ceiling and white netting can be draped on the headboard and small sides of the bed. You can also achieve a canopy effect by using a curtain rod attached to the wall above the bed and supported on the ceiling. This would be much less expensive than buying a new bed.

You could do a four poster with a flat canopy attachment but not a rounded or angled. If your room is small you would be better to do a regular bed and "build" your own canopy affect by attaching a bar where the ceiling and wall meet behind your bed and another about mid way of your celing. Buy fabric to hang from behind your bed, up over the two ceiling bars and drape. You get the look without a massive bed taking up all your space. You can also use swing arm curtain rods to hang drapes to create the same look all around. There are lots of ways to do it.

I think yes it would look cramped. why not put canopy over the head of the bed. you can come away from the wall as much as you like so the drapes would drape back to the side of the bed. hope that makes sense.

If you have a bigger room like 15' x 15' and no ceiling fan you can do it. One way to make it look in proportion is to get it in a king.
