"For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords,
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.
However not all men have this knowledge..."

God has created, is running, and will destroy the Universe. God is the Origin and Destination of the Universe. God was, is, will be everywhere, God was never Created and will never die / be destroyed. God is beyond Life and Death. All religions of world teach human way to get close to God. You give your Best, God will give thy Best. Ask God for help and forgive, God will help and forgive you. Pray; Worship and Thank God for everything. Remember wherever there is Happiness in Life, there will be Sorrow. To get Happiness, you must master Sorrow. For Success in Life; Believe in Self and God, Learn from Past, Concentrate in Present, Plan for Future. Have control on, be the master of, not the slave of your body, senses, and mind. Purpose of this Life is to Gain and Share utmost Knowledge and Experience to differentiate and choose Right, Good, God against Wrong, Bad, Devil. Set your Desire level perfect or OK to be brave, no low to be coward, no high to be cruel. You have rights of Survival, Self Defence, and Freedom.

no , of course not, he said it because he was aware of the fact that the human beings will start worshiping anything along with his almighty, ppl used to worship all sorts of things just because they were impressed by the way they function, like the sun for instance some tribes used to worship the sun, the way it rises from the horizon and sinks back into it is something startling without a a doubt , if God didn't point out the fact that there are no other "gods" and that this amazing sun is just one of his many amazing creations, ppl would still have thought that this stunning phenomena is no other than a god who's in charge of the light, and that some other god is in charge of love and there's one God who's in charge of all the other gods kinda like the CEO and department managers in a firm

Scholars have now identified almost 5000 other religions and gods in human history. The odds of ONE of them being right is .0002. Those are pretty slim odds, so I'm sure all the gods were fighting to see who could win the most followers. Or something like that.

It's because God was just the god of the Hebrew people to begin with. He wasn't the only god. He was THEIR god and THE BEST god. He was getting things done while Baal was off on a lunch break.

There is only One Creator. But people like to make different gods than the Creator, who Is God. So? People have to reject the real God (Creator) or find other wannabe gods.
Man made gods. And the devil is a god to disobedient children.

Good question. "Henotheism" is the belief that there may be multiple deities, but one particular deity that one is supposed to pay attention to.
Personally, I think the Bible makes much more sense if you take this view into account. Otherwise, what's up with Genesis 1 saying "Let US create...", God calling himself numerous times "a jealous god" (jealous of who?) and other passages like the one you mention?

There is only one God.
Through many religions, there have been lesser gods -- think of the Greek gods and the Roman gods and the Nordic gods, as well as the countless idols that people have worshiped over the millennium.
So yes, God says you shall have no other god before Me.

The Old Testament, in quite a few places, implies there are other gods out there. It's kind of funny like that.

Yes. Just like Saddam Hussein said "Thou shalt have no other dictator but me" to the people of Iraq.
