There is County Criminal court which deals with criminal law cases.

County Civil deals with civil matters like law suites and family law like divorce and child custody hearing and such.

Federal Courts hear matters of federal criminal law violations or Federal Civil cases.

Every state has its own criminal and civil laws....... and that is what county criminal or civil court deals with.

Federal courts deal with federal laws.

There are also State Supreme Courts that hear appeals at the state level. And then there are US Federal Appeals Courts that hear appeals handed up by the states courts.

And then there is the US Supreme Court. They only hear cases they choose and their rulings are then the law of the land everywhere in the county.

Its confusing, so I tried to break it down simply for you.

You should do an internet search on US Courts and State Courts and County Courts and you will find tons of reading material.

Federal court has a wider jurisdiction and tries big cases while a Family Court has limited jurisdiction as it only deals with family related disputes.
