Someone please tell me this is crap and nothing to worry about. So I was reading a Whitetail magazine and I saw this advertisement for a detergent and spray for camo hunting clothes. Their point was this: Camo is mainly manufactured in China and they use a UV brightener to make the camo patterns stand out better. But, they claim, this UV brightener makes a 'blue' signature to deer when out in the woods. But deer see in black and white, so how could they see blue? Its like they're trying to say that in a black and white world, we hunters will be blue beacons standing out among the woods. I'm guessing its just another marketing gimmick to sell something to desperate hunters, timed perfectly with all the recalls from China lately. I'm convinced its crap, but I'm open to anyone's thoughts or opinions.

It's not true. I just went archery hunting in west Texas. I put on a pair of leafy 3-D's that I washed in Tide unscented WITH u/v brightener and I had a doe eating berries off the cedar bush I was sitting in. She walked all the way around me(within 3 feet at one point) and when a spike caught her attention I shot her at less than 5 yards. If they can see that U/V stuff she and the spike must have been blind as bats!

It isn't true and it has been proven not to be true.Nothing to be concerned about..... Besides, any NEW Camouflage Clothing that is washed for the first time in ANY detergent will reduce/remove ANY "COLOR" UV reflective light characteristic's that occur "naturally" due to the color dyes that are used in the manufacture of camouflage clothing..It's just a GIMMICK to sell a B.S Detergent and Spray Product.Nothing more
