No Elizabeth, you can't. There's no way you can work out a relationship if its predicated on distrust and dishonesty. The two keys in any lasting FUNCTIONAL relationship are RESPECT and TRUST. Without those two, its just a dysfunctional relationship.

If you can build the trust, then yes. It takes work and effort on both parties.
If you are a guy who is a genuine guy that really is trust worthy and your girlfriend can't see that you need to show her that you can be. You need to do it by giving her attention in public instead of other women. If a girl walks by and she is talking to you, keep your eyes on HER.
If you are a man/woman who has been unfaithful and wants to earn the trust back, you need to be patient with him/her. If she/he even thinks that you might beable to be trusted again in the future you are lucky, and you need to do everything in your power to show him/her that you only want her and that it was a mistake. Give the person your full attention once again.
If you are a man/woman who is having trouble trusting your partner, then you need to decide if you think he is capable of being trustworthy. Or perhaps if you are being paranoid. If you choose to stay with them, then show the other person your decision by not getting on their case, and doing extra special little things for them.

Why be together if there's no trust? You might as well designate your worst enemy as a best friend and try to make it work. I suppose anything is possible these days, what with all of our advances in technology and mind-control.

No!!! You can try, but it will be the most miserable relationship you've been in. Think about it, if they go somewhere you will always wonder what is going on. That is self torment
