I recently came to germany from korea. When i was home on leave i found out that my mother was terminally ill but i was already on orders to come to Germany. Now i am trying everything that i can think of to get back to the states to be with her but nothing is working. I do not know what to do and i feel like no body is trying to help. If anyone knows exactly what to do that could get me back to the states to be with her then please contact me so that i may do this. thankyou.

I am going thru my chain of command for all of you military personell that may read this. It only seems that the unit that i am in is so disorganized that they do not care about the situation.

..try this.. call the congressman of her state, explain your situation to him, jump through the hoops of his influence,... he will appreciate your local community support.. follow through 'if' he gets things accomplished for you.
Good luck to ya.. been there... know the feeling.. but i didn't get this counsel till too late..
Even YOUR congressman may be of help.. if he is from a different state.. give him a call.. see what his counsel amounts too..
Those ol boys have some strings they can pull in situational hardships..
By the way, THANKS for YOUR service.. I appreciate you and what you're doing..!!

Yes, you can. There are military lawyers available to you. Use
one. You can get a compassionate long-term leave or discharge. Take it step by step, go to your superior, if you don't get it resolved go to his superior.....and keep going up the ladder. Don't skip over your superior to his, as your superior will take it the wrong way, like he doesn't have the power to help you in your eyes..and he can make it harder for you......Just climb the chain of command one by one until it's resolved! And Pray! I will!! Good Luck

You can start with your commanding officer or First Sergeant. They will put you in contact with the American Red Cross which will verify the emergency and assist in making all the arrangements!

There are avenues available through your chain of command. You must follow them. I would go to my chaplain and see if he/she might help speed up the process.
