Not sure about remaining friends, but 3 weeks seems to be a make or break point in a lot of relationships.

Sure if that's what both parties are looking for, however, that is not usually the case. Though it's considered a fling by one, there seems to always be an emotional connection for the other. In that case, it'd be much more difficult to shift over to "just friends." If this is something that you are considering and the other participating party has not been told, once you identify the change in the relationship, it will be up to the other person to decide whether or not that can be possible.

No, because the only reason you want to be friends is because you want to keep this person around with the slim possibility of having more. Start dating other people and move on so you can find a person who reciprocates your interests.

Yea I think that it is. i did that once. Once I got to know the guy I realized that I liked him as a friend better than if her were to be my boyfriend. Good Luck!
