Fundamentalist Christians, if you can't avoid logic fallacies in your arguments why should I trust your theology?

For example, I am constantly hearing fundamentalist Christians attack made-up strawman versions of the theory of evolution. When I read fallacious arguments like that I know that they did not bother to research evolution or think their argument through. Why should I expect them to have researched their theology or thought about their religion any more thoroughly?

If my lawyer used such fallacious reason I'd fire him on the spot and demand a refund.

I agree. As a Christian, not only do I research the Bible, but I look at sciences, historical facts, and other sources. I try to understand other points and get a good knowledge of them before I try to debate them. Throwing out useless incorrect pieces of information not only makes you look bad, but it weakens your points of view.

In this very thread a creationist tries to use the Piltdown Man hoax as an example of why evolution can't possibly be true. Let's examine why that question reeks of straw:

1. Guy claims to have found a new early hominid.
2. Scientific community is sceptical, but investigates.
3. The claim is determined to be bogus.
4. Science shrugs and moves on.

In other words, science worked! It figured out an error and corrected it.

So, you, see, the guy making the convoluted strawman claims using lots of LOLs is actually guilty of the very thing he's railing against.

Although I don't think I have not responded to you regarding the matter you mentioned, I will say this:

I am not your lawyer.

I have no desire to argue religion with you.

My only motives in answering questions on this forum are to share the gospel of Jesus so that anyone who has the desire will accept Him as their Saviour, and to help those who ask for information that I might know.

On judgment day, evolution or lack of evolution will not be a concern. You have heard of what Jesus did for you. It is your choice whether you accept it or not. I pray you will.

Its is you evolutionists who use straw man arguments and circular reasoning. For example

Strawman." You Christians attack made-up strawman versions of evolution." This is a srtawman fallacy in itself since it is you who have made-up evolution and not us. We attack only what you say, For instance.... punctuated equilibrium....LOL ..... vistigal organs LOL...... Piltdown man hoax.....LOL......Lucy hoax ...LOL.... Once upon a time Billions of years ago.....LOL... All the matter from the big bang came from nothing...LOL ..... The origin of life for which you have no answer except spacemen planted it here.....LOL ...... LOL

Circular Reasoning
The so called geologic collum which only exists in your minds in which the fossils are dated by the strata and the strata are dated by the fossils..... LOL

Or how about this circular reasoning straw man.... Intelligent design could not have happened because there is no God. Therefore evoultion is a fact...... LOL

Really it is you evolutionists who make fools out of yourselves clinging to something as absurd as macroevolution. In the beginning God is the only thing that makes sense.

let me throw this thought out there... we are obviously going to debate evolution till the end of time ( when God finally tells us how he did it ).
Why is it not possible that outside the gates of Eden the world as we know it was forming?? because wasn't it a punishment to leave the garden? how do we know that dinosaurs and the like hadn't already did the stint in this world by the time Adam and Eve screwed up ( by way of free will )
at this stage in the game i think we are all trying to validate our beliefs so why spend the extra effort de-validating people's opinions.... and you know what they say about that...
opinions are like butt holes... we all have one and everyone thinks everyone elses stinks.... :0)

They can't! All that crap they spew is just senseless uselessness.

Jerry Falwell (burn in the Lake of Fire), Jim Baakker (proven liar and pimp), Pat Robinson (Diamond mine owner and gangster) all have a special place in Hell for their misdeeds.

All that religion stuff is complete foolishness to keep the weak minded in a state of constant fear and subjection.

Look no further than the idiot (betty) just below my answer. It proves my point.

Burn Baby Burn!
