Jogging will help you lose weight if you stick to it. You don't have to go outside either you can jog in place at home for 30-45 mins a day while listening to music or watching tv. You don't have to kill yourself just a nice steady pace to break a sweat. You can break it up by dancing too, or doing some aerobic steps for a few mins then back to jogging. Eat only until you feel satisfied, even if it's good. I realized I eat a lot of food when it's something I really like the taste of.

Start a weight training program 3 days/week in a total body format. Use big compound movements such as: deadlifts, squats, presses and pulls. Perform ESD (cardio) work at least twice/week using an interval training protocol. An easy example is sprinting for 30 seconds followed by 60 seconds of walking for a 20-30 minute period. Focus on protein and green leafy vegetables at every meal. There's more to it than this, but should give you a great start.
