There are really scary components of depression. Some professionals treat the illness and don't educate patients of these. Suspicion of loved ones caused by patients self-hatred. Will you study to find answers to your own depression? I know it's hard, but until you know how distorted your thinking has become, you might not heal. If you know it will free you from unreal thoughts, that you feel have nothing to do with depression. You can't feel safe if gnawing doubts or anger that are hidden in your deprssion aren't seen as part of this disease.

Thank you, both. Taking the meds is the hardest part, and ol' paranoia or depression tries to fool us into not taking. I suffered major depression, after a poor prognosis for cancer, but I know depression was hanging on for most of my life. Although, people who know me and LIKE me, some don't, think me nice. The main character trait we can have, is acceptance. Bless the Dali Llama.

I think the first step toward healing the whole mind/body/soul is to take care of the depression thru meds. It kinda hard to give yourself a peptalk to get out of clinical depression since it is a chemical imbalance of the brain.

Then the second step is to be open enough to realize that Talk Therapy might be needed to learn new patterns of thought and resolve old emotional wounds.

We all fall short of the ideal. But some people are beyond denial and into delusion. They really think everything is everyone elses fault.

A person that takes responsibility for their own growth will eventually find what they are looking for.
