Abarognosis is loss of ability to appreciate the weight of objects held in the hands, or to differentiate objects of different weights.

What does this mean and what causes abarognosis?

Wikipedia has almost that same first sentence you said, followed by "This deficit may be caused by damage to the parietal lobe on the side of the brain opposite of the deficit" (this answers the cause part of your question)

Basically, what that means is that you can't actually sense the weight of things. If you hold them in your hands, normally you can tell if an apple is heavier than a piece of paper..... but if you had this neurological disease, you wouldn't be able to tell which one was heavier. Does that help?

You have a good definition. It is caused by a parietal lobe lesion. aka getting hit on the side of the head, around the temple.
a bruise on the brain
