The best handgun is the one that is already in your hand when you need it the most. All modern handguns from the major makers are good.
Revolvers: Hard to beat the Korth (of course), the Colt Pythons and the Smith & Wessons.
Semi-autos: Korth, H & K, Glock, Sig, Beretta, Browning, 1911 & Clones.

The TOP five on my list
Smith & Wesson (Revolvers)
Colt (Goverment Model's Series 80's and Combat Commanders)
Sig Sauer Semi-Auto's
Beretta Semi Auto's
Walther Semi Auto's
Swapped Beretta for Walther though.
Basically if your going to get a revolver, get a S&W or Colt Python, and if your going to get a Semi get a Sig or Beretta.

That is an individual preference, Mine are the Glock model 22 in .40 S&W, followed by the Colt Mk IV Series '70 Government Model in .45 ACP.

First of all , why did you people give those guys such a low rating? They was only giving their opinion. The truth is it is all opinion. The best hand gun made is the one you are most comfortable with. We all know that. It's like saying, "whats the best car". I am just wondering why those guys got a low rating for stating their opinion.

Ive tested allot of hand guns in my time but one thing i have to say is that glock and Walther are my favorite out of them all as they are smooth accurate and pretty tough also i would say Beretta i own a glock 19 and soon a Walther p99 (when it arrives) but have fired them both and are great to use

The best handgun made is the one that you can shoot accurately and one that you like. If you can't shoot it or uncomfortable with a gun it is'nt going to do you much good regardless of how much it costs.
