well i died my hair about a year in a half ago and was unable to see the color, so then i got a streaking kit (not knowing it was bleach) and put it in my hair in september 2006, my hair didnt exactly fall out then but it was like really breaking off a lot when ever i would do it or touch it. still today it does that sometimes, and when i take braids out of my hair a whole lot comes out. i usually take time out of my day to brush my hair thoroughly and grease/oil my scalp, and i only use conditioner when i do my hair everyday, but sometimes it still seems to come out can someone please help me?

couple ideas for you.

you probably need a more moisturizing hair shampoo and condition. You might also try deep conditioning it once a week. focus the product on the ends of your hair and not your scalp. And washing your hair every day is actually not that good for you. Unless you have extremely dry hair. Washing hair every day will promote oiliness.

When you do blow dry or style your hair with any heat products, be sure you put on some sort of thermal heat product to help protect your hair. Get your hair trimmed/cut every 8 weeks or so to reduce split ends.

the old adage of brushing your hair like a 100 or however many times it was is actually probably causing more breakage. You don't need to brush your hair more than a few times.

Buy It's A Ten from a beauty supply store (the reconstructing cream and spray)-- it works miracles! Use the conditioner in your hair every time you shampoo it, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. Use the spray after towel-drying and comb through.

It may not be because you died it though. It can depend on how long you have been straightening your hair! (If you do that)

:((

Go to a hair salon that doesn't just do your hair but teaches you tricks and sell hair products, after all they are the pros!
