Most religions believe in some sort of wonderous afterlife. If it really exists, why not just die, so one can get there quicker?

Because we would miss the enjoyment and oppurtunities one can receive from the journey in getting there.

Why not just be given a PhD diploma when you're five years old, instead of spending twenty-five years in school? Why be forced to take driving lessons, instead of just being allowed to get behind the wheel of a car whenever you feel like it? Why be forced to try out for a team, when you should just be able to walk out onto the field and play, whether you know what the hell you're doing or not? Nice try, smart a--! Too clever by a half.

You have to know God before you will be let into heaven and if you know God then you know that there are things he wants you to do while you are here. Not to mention a lot of loved ones will be left in grief for no reason. What about raising kids, who should do that? Life is a lesson that needs to lived out for a reason. It is a dress rehearsal for the next life. Besides that it's selfish and pretty self centered.

I used to want to die when I was a child because my mom told me that I could see my deceased pets in heaven. Apparently, the Bible says you go to hell or something if you commit suicide. I guess that's why less people do it. I'll be honest and admit I've never read the whole Bible and I don't know where it addresses that issue.

Let's all drink the cool kool aid, we'll get to hang out with Jesus! No wait, the founders of Christianity saw that everyone would do this without a deterrent...hmmm....what to do, ah yes! Say you won't get there if you end your life now! Where would all the revenue be if everyone were dead!?

Because when you die, you don't go anywhere.

Solomon said, "The dead know nothing. They have no feelings - love, hate or envy, they don't participate in this life anymore".

The dead people are waiting for the judgement day.

That day decides who is ready to live in heaven or stay dead forever.

Not everyone will want to live in heaven. They won't be happy there. Its too perfect!

They'd rather stay dead.

Because you miss out on the courtship. Heaven is the consummation of the marriage between Christ and his bride, the Church. This is the time of courtship. Getting to heaven is not the "reward" so to speak but the natural progression of a love relationship.

God has a purpose for our lives. We have work to do. Once we have fulfilled our purpose, life will end.

If you commit suicide, you will thwart God's purpose and miss out on your purpose. You won't get to help others or make a difference in someone's life.

Because if you do, you can't be forgiven by confessing wrong, and you won't go to The Holy Kingdom, I can't say this for sure, but a little common sense tells me if our final act is a sin, and we have to be forgiven our Sins through Jesus Chist we have the punishment of death on our hands, and that is eternal punishment. Again if you have Jesus that is the only way you will go to Heaven, and if you have Jesus, you will never want to kill yourself, you trust in Jesus.

did you not know that committing suicide disqualifies you from receiving this afterlife. Read it in the religion's pamphlets of rules and regulations.
