I believe in God and Jesus, but do not consider myself a Christian, for some of the same reasons you listed. I would be called a spiritualist as I do attend a new thought or progressive church.

How can I say this...... There is lot of evidence to that ORIGINALLY the Bible included reaincarnation. There are very old books noting that it was during the Roman empire that the Bible was edited by the church, which had the political role in society too. What they wanted was people obeying them in all possible ways... AND in order to achieve this, they replaced all the incarnation parts in the Bible with Heaven and the final Judgement Day parts !!

Roger Woolger MD, Brian Weiss MD and many many many others have discovered in their past life regression therapies that people who feel uncomfortable having partners of the opposite sex, had indeed been severaly molested in their previous lives or\and in their early childhood by the opposite sex ! The subconscious mind continues to carry these hidden bad experiences about a certain sex's actions.. and so this results to geys and lesbians being born or becoming later..

Now, I am not here to convince you this is the case. I am providing you with real information I have gathered.

This topic is long, mysterious and breathtaking !!

I'll answer your question with a question. If a Catholic priest was arrested on child molestation charges and the evidence against him is overwhelming and after reviewing the evidence the judge said "you know I'm a really good judge and I love this man, in fact, I'm going to prove to everyone here that I love him so much I'm just going to let him go because I'm so loving." Would you call a judge like that "good" in any normal sense of the word? Please for God's sake don't say "yes" just because you want to win the argument. The same kind of situtation applies to the God of the Bible. God is so loving that he actually sent his Son to die a horrible torturous death on a cross in your place so that you can have a right relationship with him and actually be set free from whatever sin may entagle you. But you see God is not ONLY loving he is also JUST. Just as no good human judge set can set a guilty person free without a just penalty God "cannot" just allow any of us to live life as we each see fit and not suffer any consequesces for our actions simply because he is loving. Do you see why Christ had to die and how God's love and his justice are both EQUALLY displayed at the cross? Believing in God is great and all, but as James writes even the demons believe and shudder. Faith without works is useless (James chapter 2). And also since Scripture depicts the church as the bride of Christ are going to tell Jesus that you like him, but hate his wife whom he died for?

God loves all people but God also gives us the rules for living, Does your parents tell you rules, what happens when you disobey them, do they not put these rules in force to protect you from getting hurt.
Parents are parents, but God is God, God knows and see's all things, and Lust should not be something we follow, It should be compassion and LOve, and before you go getting mad at me and saying a woman or man cannot love another, That would be in thier sense of Love, if someone has asked Jesus into thier heart, then I feel they would be convicted of thier sin, You can choose not to be a part of God, because you don't want to follow rules, because since we have ate of that tree of knowledge, some of us seem to think we know what is best for us.
But I tell you, God knows what is best, and if you shut God out on something simple like this, that is sad, we need to let these little things go, none of it will matter anymore, In the Holy Kingdom we will be as Angels, there is no marriage anyway, All this stuff will be gone with the world, So it will not even matter, You are mad at God for one thing, imagine if you knew what the devil does, mass murder, hurt people, and that is a starter, God is free from Sin and has nothing to do with any of this, don't turn God away for the only other thing that is left, Please don't, God loves us and Jesus saved us from that evil, don't go to it anyway for a little thing you don't agree with, I guarantee you won't agree with the devil if you have a heart, there is no where else to go, The earth will be consumed.

He said that a long time ago, he never thought that there was going to be GAY people. But like you I don't understand people either, they are just hypocrite's because how can you go and say your a son of Christ and you turn around and throw the first rock?! We will never know I guess. I am not for gay people but that is their decision and by that will be judge by the one, and that is the one judge you should be worried about not us.

I understand about not wanting to join a particular religion, but I think you are way off on your thought that because God loves everyone, they should all go to Heaven no matter what.

That doesn't even hold for earthly relationships. Think about it; I love my daughters, would give my life for them. But what if they walked away and refused to even acknowledge that I exist, depsite every evidence to the contrary? Okay, so I'd follow them and insist that I still love them.

But what if they kept going? What if everytime I came near they began screaming and yelling at me, and ran away? How long should I continue before finally admitting that I'd lost my daughter (heartbreaking as that would be)? So I'd wait, wait for them to come home.

But what if they never did? At what point would you say that my daughter was completely lost with no chance for a reunion between us? Probably the same place I would, at the moment of her death.

It's good to believe in God and not religion. You really need to learn more about who God is though. There is a book out that can explain that to you. I would also suggest joining a church that teaches from the book to aid you in your growth.

God will judge our hearts. No one on earth can really judge the fate of another man because we are unable to see his heart.

God loves all people, but not all people will make it into heaven. If that were the case, there would be no reason to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior.

God really despises sin. We all have sinned. No one sin is better or worse than the other. They are all equally bad in that they cause permanent separation from God. Jesus will bridge that gap for all of us. Every sinner. Including me. My sin is as bad as the sin of homosexuality. I need Jesus and have accepted his grace and mercy.

There is a lot that you still need to learn and understand, but prepare your heart and pray for understanding and God has promised you will receive it.

God bless you in your growth.

They say your going to hell because they have been taught to believe that and adopt the doctrine either because of brainwashing or because they feel they have been lead to believe that is the truth. Its really a matter of religion doctrine The earth and mankind is like in a state of being mentally(religion will say spiritually) lost in my opinion. And religion, oddly as it is stabilizes(not cures) many lost people, giving them a purpose and a designed structure to have a reason for living and a hope for the future from days past to times present. Of course God loves all people, even those who do not believe in him. These haters/judges just have yet to feel the true love of God that they presumingly follow. They make the great flaw of presuming to judge and attack others when the power to enforce judgment and punishment has not been granted to them. They want their own believed version of stability to conquer so badly, that they try to scare gays and shun them to make them comply, ignoring or not being aware that gays cannot change the nature of who they are, their DNA, genetics or sexually developed characteristics. It is unfortunate many have suffered throughout time (gays, blacks, Jews) and now even today, because of being lead by stubborn followers and elders stuck in their ways, closed mindedness, lazy minded, ignorant minded following their doctrine that keeps changing to fit whatever financial gain is present.

These types behave in the opposite of open-minded:
Open-Minded: "In discussions they listen carefully to every viewpoint, evaluating each perspective carefully and fairly."

god does love everyone but there are standards that god wants all of us to live by too. remember in the story sodom and gommarah he told the angel to go find ten rightious people and he would save the city but when the angel went into the city he didn't find any. Men were being with men and women with women so god destroyed both cities. not because he didnt love them he did it because that is not what he put men and women on earth for and yes in the bible god says himsel that sodomy is detestable to him. please take the time to read the book of LEVITICUS: ALSO 1ST.CORITHIANS: 6-9 I hope by reading these you will have a better understanding of what god exspects from us and the consequences from our actions. good luck on your journey to finding god.

you ge tinto heaven by being saved not by your works or your sexual orientation. God does love all people and gives them the opportunity to be saved. salvation is free to all. You just need to learn about religion from someone that has been taught the right things. Some people have been taught false information or inaccurate information or information that has been corrupted by bias. The bible has the correct information if they pick it up and read it. I'm sorry you feel this way.
