Ok, I will update this and explain...

Fries Electronics, Radio Shack, or simply go to the local cable tv place and dig it out of their dumpster.

Ok, I am not sure if the impedance is all that much different. You will need to talk to the pencil neck about that.

A higher impedance simply means there is more resistance within the cable. With a lower impedance more signal will get through and you will have less loss. This means if the cable has a lower impedance it is more effecient. This is why your better stereo speaker cables have less impedance. Also why your better, more efficient stereo speakers are rated at 2 ohms.

But the question that needs to be asked is it really going to make a huge difference? I do not think so. How much signal will you actually be losing? I would consider the cost savings as well.

This is why I listed two places where you can purchase the cable at top dollar, then another way where the cost is next to nothing.

Good luck.

RG58 cable is 50 ohms so it is NOT used for cable tv. Cable tv uses RG59 and RG6 - which is 75 ohms. You would need to check your local electronics and communications stores. Any store selling ham or CB radios should have RG58 cable.
