He claims that the steroids he took the first fight with Oscar did not make a difference. The fight in my eyes was VERY close and I think he is full of it!! What do you folks think? Maybe an asterisk next to his win?

The Balco scandal came out before the 2nd fight... so I am pretty sure they where talking about the first fight.
Both fights where very close. I thought Oscar barely lost the first fight, and I personally think the difference between the 2 was steroids.

Elmer I would agree with you on Oscar possibly taking steroids. But in all honesty he is not that strong.. I have followed his career since won the gold, and he used to be ridiculously week! a week before his fight with Mosley they where showing him squatting 135 lbs and strugling! While a doped up mosley was benching 300lbs!
The best bet of catching Oscar doping was when he went up to 160 lbs... if he ever needed them was against Hopkins and he showed up FAT!

mosley without a doubt was on steriods for the 2nd oscar fight. he was ripped and strong. he never ran out of gas. then in his next fight against winky, his physique was flat and he was exhausted by the 4th rd. but i thought de la hoya still clearly beat him in the 2nd fight. the judges must have been on drugs too.

I think the 1st fight had more to do with De La Hoya having a sucky gameplan than Mosley taking steroids. I never cared about how ripped Mosley was. In the 2nd fight, De La Hoya clearly beat him with the jab but got robbed anyway. HBO loves to choose the newer star...

First of all, it was the 2nd fight with De La Hoya, and many believed that De La Hoya was robbed. If you saw that fight he was very cautious and couldn't get off; if anything it had a negative affect on him. He then lost his next two fights, both to Winky Wright.

i think he is a cheater and that his victories during any time period he was confirmed to have used steroids. boxing needs to really unify and come up with a clear cut rule on substances not allowed for boxers and better testing procedures that would not allow athletes to be able to cheat. more hair follicle testing and blood work. maybe create a league like baseball and football and assign a commissioner, someone tough like goodell.

How do we know that all boxers don't take them? The BALCO steroids were undetectable, for all we know, ODLH was on them too.
