Feel free to lay into me if you can make it funny.

I would rather have 100 people laugh and smile than keep my pride emaculate.

I guess the best answer would be its all fun and games and funny haha when you do it to someone else. But is it still fun and games and funny haha when someone else does it to you?If you are able to put yourself in the person's shoes that you're making a personal attack on and you can laugh well then I it MUST be okay right? So not..it's never okay under any circumstance and no matter how funny the delivery.

In My Opinion,

Well I can laugh at myself enough and dont mind a funny insult or two - but it has to be funny and not just crude or an outright hateful attack.

It's like vegetarian lamb, very difficult to make a judgement on it's originality.

maybe 0.1% of the time they are inappropriate.

the problem is, if they are funny there's probably some truth to it... but if there's some truth to it, people will get more upset by it.

I may be weird, but my kids always got in less trouble with me if what they did was funny:)))

I usually get a good laugh out of them! Have had and seen some good ones too! (most of them are "keeps!") "Peace!" :)

What do you mean by a 'personal attack'?

if they are funny, they are certainly more acceptable, if not you're just mean for the sake of mean...
