Non believers obviously have a chip on their shoulder. If the Lord teaches to love and believe, how does that affect you? I'm not talking about people who interpret Love with kill anyone who doesnt believe or go off and do what they want in the name of God. What has the idea of one God, our Lord, telling us pretty basic stuff like treating others as we would like to be treated done to you? I didn't know the Bible was a trap of sorts. It "takes away your freedom" Well, I hate to break it to you, but you aren't free. You have free will, but you will always be a slave to your job, to your car, to your house, to your bills, to a society without any pity for how you end up. A culture that could care less whether you die or not. Why even bother if that's all you have? YOU ARE NOT FREE. That's a very bleak outlook on life and rather sad. Pay attention to the differences between believers and non believers responses. They speak for themselves.

What did the Lord do to me? It is my belief that he gave his perfect son for my sins, so that I may be with him in Heaven someday. Best present I've ever gotten. I don't understand why anyone would think that God has done anything to them. It's more like what He's done FOR them. The love and sacrifice have already been freely given, but salvation comes only through believing.

It's not what "the Lord" did to me; it's what "the Lord" has and is doing to this world. I do not fear going to hell (if I even believe any of that), for we are living in hell right now.
I am no slave to any job or to a car or house. I could easily survive without a job, without a car (not that I have one anyways) and a house (I still live with my Mom, so I don't have a house either). It's what the wild is for (at least the bit we have left). Everything we need is right there. I come from the woods, I just feel like the life I'm living now is a vacation and I'll be heading back to those woods someday.
Anyone who lives their lives by a books ruling - that is what a slave is. No matter how mighty the one who spoke the words is, you are their slave.
I do not and am not.

The Lord didn't do anything to me. I don't have anything against fictional characters in books.
I *do* resent the followers who would presume to tell me how to live my life based on something that they read in a fairy tale. I think I have a right to have a chip on my shoulder because most followers that I've met have this ridiculous artificial air of superiority about them. Like lack of rational thought is a badge of honor to them.

I think 2 groups of people r at fault here... Bible thumpers who tell everyone they're going to he!! for the slightest infraction, and some non-believers who love to push other people's buttons and cause controversy. If u don't believe then u don't believe- it's whatever. But don't knock it until u try it.

wow, take a breath. Was that a question or a athiest bashing session? lol, I know what your saying, but really, that was a very...confusing way of putting it. It took me 5 minutes to read. Well, good luck with your life. Take some time to figure out some things why don't you?

I have no chip on my shoulder. I am not mad at god because it doesn't make logically sense to me to believe in him. I am not offended by people who do believe, but please don't tell me that bad things are going to happen to me because of my choice. I am a good person and I care for other human beings despite their beliefs, don't judge me for mine.
I am free. I am happy, not sad, I enjoy my life.

You have made some good points here - but me, I can't believe in much of anything unless I see the facts. Prove it to me.
Try believing in yourself - you get much further than begging a being created by another's' mind for help.

I'm kind of confused. Are you putting down the bible or are you like supporting the beliefs of the bible?

In answer to your question, the "Lord" has done nothing to/for me.
In answer to your rant, if you believe you are free, then you are free.

that was kinda confusing.
there will always be people who believe
and people who dont
people that feel free
and people that don't
its not a matter of right or wrong
its a matter of what you feel comfortable believing.
