she has MPD stemming from repressed memories of abuse from chldhood. i love her to death but i dont have financial backing as i am still in college. how can i be supportive and be there for her through thick and thin and in genral try to help her out of this situation ?

You really can't help her. Advise her to seek as much help as she can, rely upon family, if she can.
She's NOT good girlfriend material. Be a friend, but don't let it go any further.

Is this condition her or your diagnosis or has she been diagnosed by a psychiatrist? Self diagnosis or by a non-professional is usually wrong and is dangerous. Dissociative Identity Disorder, DID is the new term for MPD. By typing this name into Yahoo! web search a better description of this rare disorder may be found. Wikipedia has a good summary.
