I contacted the dealer and the finance guy told me to make the payments that they still haven't been able to secure financing, I asked how long they will keep trying and he said a few more weeks, can't I just tell them nevermind, let me have back my trade in's and I will bring the new car back?

I have a signed contract, but it states "upon credit approval", I really want my trade in's back, they are an 07 tahoe and an 05 Cobalt, we traded to save money but they keep hitting my credit and I keep getting denial letters, I don't want them to do this for another 2 weeks. Besides I am not happy with the 07 Trail Blazer ( I hate it )..

If they havent "secured financing" yet, you can get your cars back, BUT!!!! do not call them and make them aware of what you are doing. Go in person and take someone with you that can witness the transaction. I was in a similar situation with a Dodge dealer in Austin Texas. When I went back to retrieve my tradein, they him-hawed around and made me wait over 2 hours. I could tell they were not working on my deal because a couple of the people left for lunch without even coming to tell me anything. When I came back, I went to the middle of the showroom and said in a very loud voice that I have ben waiting 4 hours to get my car back and if I didnt get it back in 15 minutes, I was calling an attorney and the police. I did get MY car back. I hope you do not have to go that far. Just be aware, they will try EVERYTHING to keep you from getting your car back, even to the point of teling you they have gotten financing. You still can refuse the deal. I would also call the Attorney General's office and give them the Heads up on what you are doing so they will have an open file. Cover your butt

if the dealership has not secured financing for you then you have no contract thus you still own the trades in principal. you can get your cars back or you can inform the finance companies of those 2 cars that you traded those cars in and that the dealership has possession of them. the last option may or may not work....do you have a signed contract for the new car?

Make your payments - don't jeapordize your credit.

Go to the dealer and demand your vehicles back RIGHT NOW. They may have already sold one or both, if they have make them get them back or pay you exactly what they sold them for (much more than you got on trade), PLUS an inconvenience fee of your choosing.

You don't have a valid contract and they have had more than enough time to get financing approved.

Pull the plug on this bad deal

Yes you can. You do not own the car you are driving and still own the two cars you traded in. Personally, I think you should always secure financing before you leave the dealership with a car.
