your little bro may be behaving like this for a number of reasons. 1. it could be that he feels he can't compete with you and your 'apparent' popularity, and therefore chooses to 'not try' 2. He may have been bullied at school - or has low self esteem due to something that has happened to him (say - like his older brother calling him a loser continuously probably doesn't help the situation) 3. Mental health or disability - there is a new study about a disorder "rural deficit disorder" which basically means that if a young person isn't out in the sun with the trees and flora and fauna etc, they can be more at risk of developing mental health problems, such as depression, low self confidence, phobias etc. 4. He has been abused in someway (not necessarily sexually abused) - anything from feelings of being picked on or bullied (could be anyone - adults or kids) or perhaps he has experienced some kind of trauma... But it may not be any of these... Maybe you should have a chat with him, without calling him a loser... tell him you are worried about him... invite him to kick the footy... be the big protective brother, rather than the bully and build up your relationship... he might open up... he might just need some encouragement to get back out there... tell him you are worried... hang out with him... A great way to start would be to hang out with him in his comfort zone... and then slowly work towards getting him out of the house. Not everyone finds it easy to socialise - particularly people with low confidence... so help build his confidence... call him a loser is only going to make him withdraw even more. :o)

Depends on what time he needs to be up for school the next day. My boys when they were 12 were in bed by 9:30 because they needed to be up for school by 6am to catch the bus by 6:45. They need about 8-10 hrs. sleep a night.

He needs about 9-10 hours of sleep each night. If he needs to be up by say 6:30am in time to get ready and catch the school bus then he should go to bed between 8:30 pm and 9:30pm. Later if he doesn't have to be up as early.

No matter if it is a school night or not a routine is the best thing to do, continue it on the weekends aswell. He should be getting around 8-10 hours of sleep a night to be well rested and aware at school.

Depends. I would recomned AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep a night.
My bedtime is 8, but only because I wake up at five. And bed means: In bed, lights off.
If he's waking up at 6-7 10 should be alright.

I had to be in my room by 9pm and if I choose to wind down and read, listen quietly to music, or write in my diary that was fine for a while, that was okay. No computer, TV, phone, ect...
They really do need the rest and to learn to be respectful of others in the house who need to get up in the morning as well. In his room and quiet would be a must by 9-9:30. Heck until the day I moved out I was expect to be in my room by 10....lol
