not only do they check the odometer, but they also check the computer. This also tells them how your driving the car. Speeding and mileage only.

They all should. The lease specifies how much mileage you are allowed per year because the final value of the car is lower if the mileage is higher. They will also examine for "reasonable wear and tear" expecting that if you have had the car for 3 years it will look like other cars of that age and not have mud ground into the carpet and tears in the upholstery nor look like you drove it through the woods every day taking off the paint.

Usually look at the cluster and the overall general condition of the car... if they suspect something is up, a dealer tech scans the vehicle for codes, odometer readings etc to verify....

All they have to do is look at the odometer. If they suspect any funny business, they can simply hook into the onboard computer. You cant change them

the gauge on the dash board is actually a recording devise that registers all the miles you travel. to see what they are seeing push the reset button in twice and a digital reading will show how far you have traveled with the vehicle. by pushing it in one time you just reset the planned trip travel mileage recorder. pushing it twice reveals the real miles.

they only look at the dials but if they magically found out you had clocked it you would be in deep poo.
