It's really very nice to hear about people who can live in tolerance, Nessa.
Please don't worry about what other people think or say.
If you find strength in the Buddha, Sangha and Dharma, that's your right.
Only do be a bit careful with the Muslims, cara nina.
Most of them are not fanatic, but the few who are could kill you and your father for reneging from their faith.
May God give you all the best in life.
Peace.

It is not wrong. Your religion is your business and people shouldn't tell you which religion is wrong and which is right. Just because you and your parents have different religions doesn't mean it's bad. When people say it's wrong, it's their opinion. When you decided to be a Buddhist, you probably thought it was the right thing to do. Don't listen to other people. You do what you want to do. It's your choice not theirs.

It is rough to have a religion, that is a minority religion, in the area where you live. Christians, have the same problems, in other parts of the world. But, with our global economy, the world is getting a lot smaller, and people need to develop, a more mature attitude torward beliefs, that come from other parts of the world.

I think people think that because Buddhism doesn't have God, and Jesus in it. It would seem that Buddhism has the Supreme Being, though... much of Buddhism is beautiful and it teaches high concepts of truth; it just doesn't have the Holy Trinity or God or Jesus. So, I hope this helps you understand why they do that. Your religion is yours to choose and your parents sound very cool to allow you to do that if you are a minor particularly. Don't let other's concretized beliefs hurt you. Follow your inner spirit.

Oh, I like your family's religious choices! You are all very eclectic and free-thinking.
It's not at all wrong for you to be Buddhist and for your parents to follow different religions. It's just unusual. Don't let others' ideas of stereotypes affect you.

...not necessarily wrong but mis-informed... Islam is the design of a "man" who could not read or write... he worshiped the moon god of Arabia... The promise of God was given to Abraham, not Ishmael. Mexican-Catholic, sadly has drifted into Santeria and other "cults" that have tried to "skew" Gods word to hold it's followers in bondage by superstitions and traditions that have nothing to do with Scripture... Buddhism has no plan of salvation and relies on "forces" that do not attach themselves to Scripture... Consider reading the Book of John and learn who "He" is and why "He" came here to us...

It's simply because they don't believe the same as you. Honestly I think Buddhism is wrong as well but I can't tell you what religion to follow. You have to follow your heart and what you feel is right. There will be people from every religion make it to Heaven so who am I to say you beliving in Buddhism is wrong. I simply dont' agree with their doctine. I wish you well my friend. Don't let anyone intimidate you because you don't believe the same way they do!

Your religion is not "wrong." It's your personal belief system, and you should thank others for keeping their opinions and beliefs to themselves.
Since I don't wish to argue about religion, most of the time when someone asks what I believe, I say, "My beliefs are personal, and I don't discuss them."

I am not a buddhist, catholic, or muslim..
right or wrong... an interesting question.
Personally I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to take my death penalty for my sins and yours-- if you accept.
And that he physically is risen from the grave after three days.
and is the reason why his apostles spread the gospel around the world.
i believe that God will judge all of us. it is up to us if we want to stand up and take the eternal death penalty.
or are we going to say GOD i want to be with you and I thank you for taking the death penalty for me.
Because of this love, I will love others and learn to treat others well all the rest of my life.
This is the simplicity of Christianity.
God loved you, Go and Love others.
God forgave you, Go and forgive others.
Pray and ask him to reveal himself to you.
God I don't know if you are real or which god you are, I don't know your name, reveal yourself to me and help me go on the right path you want for my life.
God will not hide himself from those who diligently seek him.
Grace and Peace.
