Actually, I have. Not because of lack of candy, but several schools and the Boy Scouts come around on Halloween on their food drives for the food bank. It's a great way to get rid of some canned goods. And I still give them candy.

On Halloween? Never. Thats not the best day to be nutricious. You could wake up not only egged but toilet papered as well. Now I have given to the food drives and other charities.

A few years ago, I ran out of candy (only bought a small bag) so I handed out some of those little individual serve packs of Pringles chips.
Didn't get egged. Got a few wierd looks though.

My grandma did that once....but after we set fire to her Lilac tree she decided it was better to give us the candy.
