i don't have a problem with it. but then, i am a muslim woman...
i don't wear hijab, but i use to, and i'm thiking about starting back. but i'm so use to being around muslim women that it's nothing weird to be.
my sister use to wear the complete face covering, her own choice. she wore it for about a year. now that used to get peoples attention when we would go out, and i think people were a little weirded out by it, but just the head covering, i don't think it looks weird at all. many muslim women wear it, some don't. simple as that really.

Honestly they remind me of the KKK with hoods over their faces. They seem a little scary to me and I'm Muslim. I'm not used to seeing people walking around with their faces covered aside from when the History Channel has something about the KKK on television. But I don't mind them at all. I wear the hijab and people think I'm a terrorist because of that. I also get a lot of stares and weird looks which bothers me but I try to ignore people. I don't cover my body or face yet but hopefully soon I'll be able to do so.

Any custom is good for its own nation and culture. Why export it and expect to be allowed this anonymity. In the western culture this covering is seen as hiding something and is not conducive to becoming a part of the new home. It sort of raises all those woman's issues as well. Why don't the men cover themselves? Perhaps because their religious issues are based on sex and the blame for all sex is placed with woman while men are allowed freedom to rape and murder in the name of their religion.

I know that it represents the opression women have to deal with in the middle east and the muslim religion, but it doesn't really bother me if she feels that's what she wants to wear to represent her religion, because if I see her, I know she no longer lives in the middle east and that she is choosing to wear that, not forced.

I saw a woman at a resort in SE Asia and it looked rather elegant. Of course when I saw her at the buffet breakfast it look rather inconvenient.
But as long as no one asks me to wear one...

That veil is with the meaning in biblical way
women is the example to say on a church (believer)
the bible says that church is very beautyful one and it is prepared to reach God (her husband) Here God is appearing as man (who is going to marrie a women. she belongs to Him only, so no one has to see her face. her beauty is belongs to Him only..
here the church is also only made to show the beauty to God..
church beauty is not for Satan, it is only for God..
Church is woman.. woman is wearing the veil to keep the beauty from other men.. this seems that she is prepared for him only.
THAT MEANS KEEPING THE BEAUTY IN VEIL IS ...
= MAINTAINNING THE HOLYNESS IN THE WORLD.. TO GLORIFY lORD.

Truthfully it is an indication of how disrespectful to women that religious system is. The mere fact that she hasn't any right to choose how she looks/dresses is oppressive and I condemn it. On the other hand if she CHOOSES to dress traditionally than one has to respect that choice. PEACE!
