that way, they can reap the wealth while we fight over the crumbs. Is this just another way to keep control? Has anyone read People's History of the United States?

Or... could it be that the US public in general has a problem with illegal immigrants flooding over our borders, having anchor babies at our expense in our hospitals, feeding them with Wick cards that we pay for, and then sending them to our schools where they are a severe drain on the academic standards because they can barely speak English, much less know anything about the basics of reading and writing when they get there?

Here is a better question for you:

Why is it that illegals can't grasp the simple concept that it is a violation of US law, not to mention our national sovereignty to enter this country illegally and a further insult to act as though the legal residents of this country are racist and/or classist when we express our displeasure with illegals?

'Rich' capitalized in the middle of a scentence like that is a proper noun - like a guy named Richard. Sorry, couldn't resist.

To actually answer your question: no. 'The rich,' at least in America, do love illegal immigration because the cheap labor depresses wages, which lowers the cost of hiring 'help,' and, more significantly, lowers the labor costs of the companies they invest in. So, they do like the /competition/ between legals and illegals for jobs - when they 'fight over jobs' - but not political conflicts between the two, which could lead to either illegals being expelled, or gaining legal status (and thus demanding hire wages).

Or could it be that the poor resent the fact that there are people who can abide by the laws and still become successful? Perhaps the entire population of poor people are together in a conspiracy to make successful people pay more taxes to the government so the poor can vote themselves more free gifts so they won't have to put forth the effort to abide by the laws and work to earn their wealth? Yes--I think that's it!

I'm not wealthy. I make 12K a year working in a restaurant and live paycheck to paycheck. I have about $40/month, after paying bills, for food & household expenses. I haven't applied for food stamps or any kind of government help because it is not your responsibility to make sure I have food--it's mine! I think if people want to live in a communist country where their fellow citizens pay to feed & support them, they should move to one instead of insisting on trying to turn the USA into one. There are plenty to choose from---I'm just not sure on their immigration policies. Good luck!

From the board room to the bath room, the wealthy benefit from the cheap labor of the illegals, while the middle class pay the cost of cheap labor with both our pocket books and our way of life,

The rich have a big investment in keeping the undocumented in the country, and it all add up to dollars and cents. They do not care who fights who ,for they already know that they will not let the labor , leave the country that allows them to be competitive with the international products in the America Market.

No. No. Someone has, I'm sure. I'd wouldn't be highly surprised if some socialist minded professor had it on his required reading list.
