The apostle John, writing in the first century, used the expression "the last hour" in referring to his day: "Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour" (1 John 2:18).

Like others in his day, John likely thought Jesus Christ's return was imminent (Acts 1:6; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18). But God has a considerably different perspective of time. His comprehension of time is not like ours. A day with Him is like 1,000 years and 1,000 years as one day (2 Peter 3:8).

John did warn us to be on the lookout for "antichrists," a description meaning any professing to be like Christ but actually working against Him. A trend that began in John's day will continue to the time of the end, when this false representation of Jesus Christ and His teaching will grow worse........As Jesus said: "Watch." Keep your eyes on the revival of the Holy Roman Empire. "Watch" how it slowly but surely begins to gain total power in most of Europe—then Central and South America and, finally, most of the entire world. "Watch" how other churches are, bit by bit, coaxed, persuaded or finally coerced into going back to the "mother" church. Frankly, you will be disappointed to see how many supposedly dedicated Protestant and evangelical leaders will be maneuvered into giving up much of what they have always believed when real pressure is put upon them.
Will you also turn aside from the God of the Bible? Will you join or continue to be part of a watered-down "Christianity" where deceived church members regularly violate God’s commanded Sabbath, where they are "allowed"—or perhaps even encouraged—to fight and to kill in human warfare, contrary to Jesus’ teaching (Matthew 5:43–45)? Will you be part of a church where pomp, ceremony and the worship of idols is practiced, and where the whole concept of literal obedience to the Ten Commandments as a way of life is not taught, and where clever arguments against the need for true Christians to keep God’s commandments are regularly employed against those who dare to heed Christ’s actual words?
Soon, the ultimate personification of the Antichrist will appear on the world scene. Appearing at first as a kind and gentle "peacemaker," he will gradually assert more and more authority. His authority will be enhanced by the false miracles Satan performs through him (Revelation 13:13). Then, the adoring masses will scream with excitement when they see him, and the doctrine of the Antichrist will permeate nearly all of professing Christianity—all except the "little flock" (Luke 12:32) described in Revelation 12:13–17.
For your eternal good, pray for real understanding, faith and courage. Obey Jesus’ instruction: "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:36).

There are many different opinions about the anti-christ. I purposely hyphenated it because when we look at the word literally it means against Christ. Any being who is against Christ is antichrist in the literal sense. If it is true Lucifer and Satan and their followers are anti-Christ then, yes. And there are beings and people who are anti-christ who still continue to this day; anyone against Christ is "the antichrist". That's just my opinion - but aren't interpretations opinions?

So, Yes, the antichrist arrived long ago and is still manifesting in those against Christ.

There is no antichrist. The future can not be predicted. Our good and extremely moral God, leave the future to us, to either make better, by working hard at solving our world's problems, or worse, by being extremely immoral, and not addressing these problems, that are so prevalent and serious in this world today. God does not give us the furture for free, we must earn it.

That kind of presumes that there is/was a Christ/Antichrist, none of which there is any reason to believe is true.

He is probably lurking around, though he has not revealed himself. The spirit of antichrist is certainly full scale in appearance though.

Because even Christ does not know when the end will be, even Satan doesn't, so reason tells us that there has always been an anti-Christ waiting in the wings.
