This question is NOT directed at Christians or Muslims who believe ALL will be saved eventually.

This is for those who believe that "broad is the road to destruction" and only a select few will attain salavation or that only those in THEIR sect are saved and the rest of the world's population past, present and future, not be part of their religion are basically doomed infidels.

So we're talking BILLIONS and BILLIONS of human souls created just to be wasted in everlasting torment.

All because of a diety who allowed a superior, powerful ex-angel to beguile two humans who did not even have knowlege of good and evil to know they were naked. This diety also created a justice system where children pay for parent's sins. This diety also KNEW all of this would happen but allowed it to support freewill. Then created a means for salvation (insert your religion/sect's requirements here) that obviously only a FEW of his entire creation would actually believe.

To what end? Why?

Very good question. If you turn the problem around-it makes MUCH more sense.
Is this stuff true?
Um...no.

My beliefs (if you can call them that) go more along the lines of the original christians, the Gnostics. They were basically the opposite of the modern ones. Their interpretation of original sin makes sense. The only "sin" we are all born with is "ignorance". Eating the fruit of the tree of "knowledge" is salvation! Modern christians basically believe that knowledge is sin and ignorance is salvation (except, or course, for knowledge of the bible). Now with that viewpoint in mind, the world is not going to hell (which is just a state of mind created by ignorance). The world is evolving into a better place everyday because of improvements in schools and teaching all over the world. The experiment is a growing success.

As a Christian I say "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now we know in part; then we shall know fully, even as we are fully known."

Sorry it's a very good question, but I don't have all the answers.

I'm not God.
