Why can't they all go together? Everywhere i read, it's 'wrong', except in wiccan articals, yet, the bible speaks about divination, and even water witching (moses). What are your thoughts?

and again, please don't tell me what to think or that i'm going to hell... this is just an open discussion. ;) thanks!

Keltasia, first of all, i said 'eclectic wicca', not a coven. second, yes, i have read both. I have been christian since birth, raised baptist, but have also studied Wicca. I have had the ability to divine for many many years, and only within the last couple of years have i realized that my 'abilities' were called divination. my question should also include "how can divination be 'evil' if it's God given, something that you're born with?" I pesonally see it as a gift.

for the person that said that the bible states divination is evil... no, it doesnt. look at joseph, he had visions in his dreams and was hired by the pharoah to give readings... dream recall is a form of divination. Why would God give these gifts if he didn't want us to use them?

That was one of my first conflicts with the church when I was 18 or 19.

Tarot cards are my favorite method of focusing my ability. All the while I was growing up, I was taught that is was evil and sinful to be able to see beyond what is in the physical world.

God has blessed me with a strong gift for intuition. He wouldn't have given it to me if he didn't want me to use it.

The philosophy of Wicca and of Christianity differ sharply on several key points, not least of which is the nature of Deity and our relationship to it. Wicca has no original sin concept; therefore, in a Wiccan context, the sacrifice of Jesus is a non sequiter. Also, Wicca honors Deity in male and female polarity with a distinctly sexual element, which is a little bit difficult to shoehorn into Christian practice.

If it is your spiritual practice only you can decide if it all works together and how. Churches (and even Covens) are not places where everyone believes the same thing, they are just where people whose opinions closely reflect one another gather. So remember if any Christian or Wiccan tells you that your beliefs and practices don't fit their idea of what is right and proper, that THEIR beliefs more than likely don't fit in with anyone else's.

Be yourself, don't hide your faith and practices unless absolutely necessary. Those whose beliefs mirror your own will find you eventually. Just don't do to them what others have done too you.

Christianity believes divination and such are evil, even though its in the bible. Obviously you haven't read the basic tenets of Wicca or the biblical 10 commandments or you would already have the answer to your question. Whoever thumbs downed me does not understand either Wicca or Christianity. What part of "thou shall have no other gods before me" and a belief in a god & goddess don't you understand???

They can go together if you wish... do your own analytical meditation or thinking on the concepts and make up your own mind. Nobody can tell you what to think about what's logical and not. IMO the only way you'd see the hell realms (I'm Buddhist) is if you lived a live doing non-virtuous deeds and enjoyed the heck out of it.

The bible speaks about divination - as a sin! It is something expressly forbidden.

Moses did not do "water witching", but rather struck the ground at the place commanded by God, at which point God caused water to spring forth. No "witching" involved. Indeed, witchcraft, as well, is expressly forbidden by the bible.

It's kind of difficult, normally, to get a group of religious people to condone those things which their faith expressly prohibits.
