Mormons believe that any human can become a god.

beta_fis...I know, I thought that was a very good question but when I saw it everyone is only answering by asking "What is the question?"

I do not know if I made any more sense with the question, but I think I knew what was the question about.

Sometimes "you people" do not understand that everyone in this section do not talk English as the first language.

If it means anything, she is Ok by me asking this again and this is what she meant. Asking if it is possible for any god to be excommunicated in Mormon church if a god turns rebellious toward current teachings.

You guys do not see it how ridiculous your doctrines sound to people outside of your cult.

Becoming like God only happens after this life. By defintion a God is perfect, so if one attains Godhood, he/she will be perfect. So the answer to your question is no.

There is a principle in the church called 'eternal progression'. In mortality we can learn and grow spiritually at a very fast pace. What we learn in this lifetime will go with us into the next. Mortality, however, only lasts a few decades. What is beyond is millenia. In Heaven after a few million years we may learn and understand much more than we do today.

Heavenly Father promised in the Bible to make us joint heirs with Christ. When we are schooled at His side and prove worthy, He will give us all He has. That power and authority is based upon righteousness. If we abuse it, it will be gone in an instant.

Check out the link in betafish's answer- in that question, there's an answer that uses the analogy of an embryo. To continue that analogy.....

This is like asking if an adult can develop a birth defect....

... Although this is where the analogy falls apart- in the adult/embryo analogy, a birth defect can't always be repaired.... but an excommunication can be fixed- repentance, re-baptism, etc, and progress can then continue.

No. We don't believe any human can become a god. We believe that anyone who follows all of Fathers laws can become joint-heirs with Christ, having all the Father has. That means god with a little "g". (You might want to look at the definition of each of these, just so you know the difference.)This happens after death. And since at that point, we would be perfect, we can't sin.

Well I understand what you are asking now- but I need a minute to think of how to answer- But I am inclined to say that once a person reaches that level, there will be no need. They will be righteous so excommunication will not be needed.

Edit**
Yeah and what the hottie above me said.

Um...I think I (and several others) already answered this one.

EDIT: How is our doctrine any more "ridiculous" than a man calling down plagues on Egypt? Or a man being driven into heaven on a flaming chariot? How about a man who talks to a burning bush and leads millions of people out into the desert because of what the burning bush told him? How about a man who walks on water, turns water into wine, feeds thousands with a few loaves and fishes, and comes back to life after he has been killed?

It all boils down to faith and the belief that with God, nothing is impossible.

No, we believe any RIGHTEOUS man can become LIKE God.

And no, once that "man" has reached the point in eternal progression, some call godhood, they become like our Heavenly Father, having their own children, like God has done with us.

Edit: It's kindof like in the Hindu religion when you reach Nirvana...but instead of living life over and over again, you live once(to get a physical body) you die, and after we're ressurected we go to Heaven, or Hell, and if you're in Heaven you can progress to reach "Nirvana...."
