A radio station and a major grocery store chain in my area are switching over to all Christmas music tomorrow. If there's a spike in homicides, it was me.

Seriously, it makes me long for the days when I was a Christian and the Christmas season started on the first Sunday in Advent.

Any places in your area starting Christmas on November 1st?

Yeah, I think the mall near us starts hanging up Santa Claus and playing "Jingle Bell Rock." UGH! And what happened to Thanksgiving?

Well, I'm a Christian, and even though for me Christmas doesn't come along until the actual Christmas Eve, I still have to listen to all the stinkin' carols and see the decorations =D. Which, actually, I don't mind the lights at night on people's houses. That's one thing I love about it.

But yeah, it drives me crazy, too, you're not alone.

Well, my Thanksgiving break is in 2 weeks.
But if Christmas break started on November 1st, Id be fine with that as well. ;)
As long as the radio station dosnt switch to Christmas music a month and 1/2 before Christmas. If I hear "Jingle Bells" one more time......

Ah yes, I was actually thinking that same thing last night!!

We also have one radio station that switches to Christmas music on November 1st. Kinda cute at first, but after a couple of weeks...jeez.

No, I'm not ready. I DO have my Christmas cards already though and have been working on them!

Yes, radio stations will play Xmas music starting tomorrow.

But on another note.......

Christmas never was meant to be as commerical as it is today. Don't you agree? Being a Christian, I don't think it should be forced upon others. If we want to celebrate it, we can do so in our local churches, or with fellow Christians. I know not everyone celebrates it, so why should an athetist/muslim/or jew walk into a Meijer in December and feel excluded or as if they're missing something? I dont know....just some two sense.

Thanks for the jolt. For me, November is the official start of gluttony season. Halloween, birthdays galore, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, starting today life's just a blur. I gotta remember to take one thing at a time - tomorrow is November, time to rake the leaves. This weekend gotta look over the voter pamphlet to ready myself for the local election. Next weekend celebrate birthdays. Mid-November start planning Thanksgiving meal. I don't want to go into a store until December 10th or so.

I'm a vendor for a watch company and work inside of Macy's stores. Macy's has had up Christmas trees and decorations since the last week in September, it makes me sick. Everyday I'm in the store I try to "accidentally" break an ornament. It's ridiculous, now Christmas starts before Halloween.

Go to the Target stores, they already have a Christmas section. Thanksgiving isn't so important in stores because everybody buys the food the week of the day, so it won't go bad, but for Christmas people buy gifts, every store has gifts so profits go up. Thanksgiving only matters the week of thanksgiving.

LOL! You bet the stores are going to start Christmas tomorrow. Our local Target store already started taking down their Halloween stuff. Guess what is going up in its place!? You got it.

I LOVE Christmas. But November 1 is WAY TOO EARLY. I'm with you on this one.
