I came home for summer vacation. Just a few weeks before the semester was over, i started dating this guy i thought was really nice. but he lives in NY. i live in OH He said he would make the effort with me to make it work while i was gone since would not be able to call him as often as i would like due to my situation at home.

I remained faithful
I held my end of the relationship
and he cheated on me for something i could not control and then was angry and lashed out at me because i did not want to tell him my plans to transfer to another college after the fact.

Was i wrong?

i dont think you were wrong but i wouldnt try to pursue this relationship first of long distance relationships are hard anyway there is too much temptation there and she might not find out because she lives so far away but if you think about it relationships are hard to make work when you live in the same town you might want to try to find someone where you are that you can spend time with and not just talk on the phone whenever yal find time that is kinda what friends do and that isnt easy on either of you but if you think you can make it work go for it if not dont think about what will make you the happiest and see where it might go if long term comes up and can you see yourself confiding everything about you and decision in your life with this person but most of all what makes you happy thats what you have to figure out

long distance relationships are tough. it reqiuires a lot more maturity, trust and openness. since he cheated he is looking for fault in you. that way in his mind he can blame the failed relationship on you. unless he can grow up i would move on to a more local relationship. not thaat you even have to be in one anyway.

Girl it is time to move on. Long distant relationships rarely ever last, & there is always conflict because you don't have any time to be together.

Nope. You are right. 100%. He's a jerk. Move on! Find someone who deserves you and will treat you right.
