a 1972 Monte Carlo will be exempt from emissions testing. Depending on where you live, the cut off is usually around 25 years, however I do not know about all states. Good luck!.

Where I live the year cutoff was 1976. To be elligable for collector plates I believe the car has to be 20 or 25 years old.

Here in GA after 25 years a car is considered antique and doesn't follow the same rules. No emissions testing required.
