Well if you are asking that means you have doubts about what you believe now.
So i would have to say the reason to become a Christian is so you have a positive hope for the future.
God is love.

I've been a Christian for a long time now. This is a few of the things that God has done for me.
I used to be a jerk to be honest. I'm not perfect, but now I have more love, joy and peace, patience, kindness etc. in my life. (Galations 5:22-23). The Bible says if we are in Christ, we are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
I accept myself more. I used to not like myself. My self worth now is based on who I am in Christ instead of what I have or have not done. God really does love us!
I have a sense of purpose in my life. We were created to do good works after we are saved and it's nice to help others. (Ephesians 2:8-10).
Answered prayer is incredible. Wisdom about what to do with my career, who to date, how God would like me to improve and much more. I'm far better off than if I had trusted my own judgment.
Looking forward to Heaven is nice too. Especially since the alternative doesn't sound like paradise at all.

I'm not sure if you're asking because you're sincerely interested in becoming a Christian, or just curious as to the reasons Christians have for it.
It's a very personal decision to make. I believe you should become a Christian because it is what I believe to be true. I believe Jesus died for our salvation and that following Him and living as Jesus did will gain us a home in Heaven after we die. After I became a Christian, I felt a center in my life. I felt like i had more purpose. I felt happier.
Notice I said that's what *I* believe. I'm not trying to pawn it off on you or anyone else. I'm just giving you something to consider. If you're really interested in becoming a Christian, I suggest you read the Bible and pray for God to lead you to the truth. But this is a very personal decision that no one else can make for you.
So n closing, you should become a Christian if it is what YOU feel is right. NOT because someone else tells you you should. I am a Christian because I PERSONALLY believe it to be true. But I understand that other religions also believe that theirs is true, and I respect that, even though I still believe Christianity is the right path. And I know that agnostics and athiests believe that THEIR beliefs are true, and while I might not agree, I respect that too. Religion/faith/spirituality is a personal choice that each person has to decide for themselves. If you are seeking the truth, I wish you all the best in your journey.
Hope this helps.
****edited to add:
Why the thumbs down? Seriously people. I offered the person a reason to become a Christian, but also stated that I believe it's a personal decision that everyone has to decide for themselves, I never said that is what they should do. You guys are ridiculous. You blame Christians for being closed minded, but then people like me try to be open minded and give some different perspectives, and you STILL give a thumbs down.

Real great reason there, Fireball. Your answers just get better and... oh waiit >_>
The only reason that you should become a Christian is that you see it as an appropriate way of life. If you think that living by Christ's teachings is a good idea and you agree with the general ideals then go for it. Just remember to take mythology with a pinch of salt. :)

This is not a question you should be asking people you don't even know. If you are serious, read the New Testament and ask yourself if this is something worth believing. I believe in Jesus with every part of my being, but I nor anyone else should ever take the place of honest soul searching. May the Lord be with you in your search for truth!

Certainly not to become part of some religion for sure. There is enough religion in this world to fill it to the brim. What we need are not more religious persons but people who believe into the Lord Jesus Christ. If this makes you a christian then you should look carefully at the word. Christ-ian. Of or belonging to Christ. With being of Christ and belonging to Christ carries with it so much that is out of reach for satan.
You get all of God as your bountiful Supply.
All that Christ has attained and obtained.. from redemption from sin to becoming a son and heir of God is yours.
All that God affords in His Body is Yours. The covering of Him as the Head of this Body is yours.
You get to enjoy Him as Your life and your everything in the midst of satan's deceit, in the midst of hardship and suffering, in the midst of joys and sorrows..He can be such a dear and near One to us, who have simply believed and received Him as our Love and Life.
OUtside of Christ is death in the form of religion and sin. May we all seek a deep abiding living relationship with this Christ while He may still be found:)

for the purpose of Spirituality, I suppose.. but for me, you don't have to be a Christian to be a spiritual person..even if you're a Hindu, Moslem or any so-called "religion"..what's important is for you to be a good citizen, abided by laws, made or natural, and always believe God and praise Him like you praise yourself...
