All you can say is that you're sorry this is happening to her.....and that she can call you anytime of the day or night if she wants to talk.
If there is physical abuse going on she needs to tell someone she trusts in Hawaii.

Just tell her that you are there for her and that you are sorry she is going through such a hard time. Honestly, nothing you say will "make it better" just let her know that she has a great friend who supports her.

Ask her if would she feel better if she wallowed about "alone" in the sludge and muck of her situation, if so you can leave the room "or" take her for some counseling.
